Armite Lubricants was founded in 1928 by Howard Armington, a chemist, during a time when manufacturing was a pivotal industry in the United States. With his expertise, Armington developed products that significantly increased productivity.

Today, as a Woman-Owned Small Business, Armite Lubricants continues to manufacture high-quality military, commercial Spec and commercial grade industrial lubricants and anti-seize compounds that meet the ever-evolving needs of the industry.

Armite Lubricants achieved significant success in its early years, thanks to its unwavering commitment to using high-quality ingredients in the formulation of its product line, which included commercial-grade, industrial-grade, and military-grade lubricants, anti-seize compounds, corrosion inhibitors, sealants, rust penetrants, and other specialty compounds.

After Howard Armington, the company’s founder, the business was passed down to his son, and then to his granddaughter, who has preserved the family legacy. Today, Armite Lubricants continues to innovate and provide top-quality products to its customers.

Under the leadership of Josh Walker, who assumed ownership of the company in 1998, Armite Lubricants not only upheld its core family values but also reached new heights. Mr. Walker relocated the company’s headquarters from Los Angeles to Costa Mesa, California, and oversaw years of significant growth.

To further enhance the company’s capabilities, Armite Lubricants added an on-site test laboratory, completing the expansion of its facility. Today, Armite Lubricants remains committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service to its clients.

Twenty years later, after building Armite Lubricants and its network of loyal customers, Mr. Walker’s daughter, Kathy Sandstrum, acquired the company. Kathy now serves as Armite’s CEO and co-owner. In true Armite family fashion, Kathy’s husband of 30 years, Mike Sandstrum, now serves as the President and co-owner.
